The Battle of Moosburg was described in 1636 : The Ottoman Onslaught. It happened during three days between the United States of Europe's army Third Division, led by Michael Stearns, and the Bavarian army of mercenaries led by Ottavio Piccolomini.
It took place along the Isar river between Zolling and Moosburg.
When the Third division was surprised by a maneuver of the Bavarian army, Mike Stearns had to improvise a bold counter-maneuver and marched most of its army through the Isar and back to appear behind ennemy lines while the Bavarians fought the Hangman Regiment entrenched in Moosburg.
The battle ended with a Bavarian tactical victory but a strategic defeat as the army is forced back to Munich.
Up-timer Jimmy Andersen was killed by a stray bullet in the first hours of the battle along with many other soldiers of the Hangman Regiment.
