Delia Ruggles Higgins was a business woman in Grantville. At the time of the Ring of Fire, Delia was fifty-nine and had been a widow for seven years. She owned a storage lot that had she had become her sole property after the death of her husband, Ray. She also collected dolls, and owned a substantial collection at the time of the RIng of Fire.
Three days after the Ring of Fire, Delia came home from the town meeting in a state of shock, which was replacing her previous state of denial about being stranded in the 17th century.
