Denmark in 1632
Under the rule of Christian IV, Denmark allied with the League of Ostend, as Christian feared Gustavus Adolphus and the growing power of the United States of Europe. However, many of the Danish people weren't, and never had been, particularly interested in helping Cardinal Richelieu's League of Ostend assail their fellow Protestants. Ultimately, Denmark was defeated by the USE and and became a junior partner in the reconstituted Union of Kalmar. As part of the agreement which established this, Denmark received an ironclad, and the use of an airplane and pilot.
During this period, Denmark owned Norway, Iceland and Greenland. Due to the butterfly effect and the greater prosperity gained through the Union of Kalmar it is highly unlikely that these three would become independent
As part of the ongoing conflict with Spain and France, Denmark along with the USE have established colonies in the New World in order to prevent the further decline of the Native people and to find necessary resources for the USE war machine
Even by the year 1636, the Danish are still trying to find and defuse the sea mines put in place during the Ostend War
