George Minor in Trail of Glory[]

After the Battle of Bladensburg and the evacuation of the government from Washington, George Minor was given the task of locating President James Madison after news came that Captain Sam Houston was preparing to defend the United States Capitol. Minor announced that Madison had been located to several other government and military officials located at a tavern in Georgetown. Secretary of War John Armstrong interrupted Minor to confirm that Madison was coming back to the tavern, causing insult to Minor. As Minor had allowed bureaucratic nonsense to keep him from taking the field, Armstrong didn't see fit to apologize.

When Madison did appear, Armstrong saw to it that Minor's regiment was reassigned to the defense of Baltimore, even though it was clear now that the British had no intention of attacking the city.
