Homer Milton in Trail of Glory[]

Colonel Homer Milton arrived at Fort Jackson in April, 1814. He and his colleague, Gilbert C. Russell, made it clear that they would not take orders from General Andrew Jackson, a militia man.

Prior to their arrival, Milton's men had foraged off of the resources of the Cherokee while the Cherokee were fighting the Battle of Horseshoe Bend. Jackson, who'd promised the Cherokee that their property would be left alone, was outraged that his word had been violated, and proceeded to verbally demolish Milton.
