Jacques-Pierre Dumais was an agent for Henri de Rohan, who was greatly concerned about Huguenot extremism in the wake of Michel Ducos's failed attempt to assassinate Pope Urban VIII. De Rohan employed Dumais as a double-agent. Ostensibly, he was a spy for Ducos via Laurent Mauger, who had recruited him to find any potential knowledge that could benefit the Huguenot cause in France.
He was an employee of the Garbage Guys in Grantville. Objectively, Jacques-Pierre did not find the collection of garbage to be a desirable task. However, he found the separation of garbage to be very helpful is accessing information about modern technology.
