Jason Linn was a Scottish blacksmith's son. At the age of twenty years old, Linn, claimed that Scotland "the most boring country on Earth," traveled to Grantville. He was employed at a machine shop, eventually becoming a repairman. In 1635, he replaced Eric Krenz in Thorsten Engler's flying artillery unit.
