Jimmy Andersen was one of four young boys known as "the Four Musketeers" by the time-lost community of Grantville.
The Ring of Fire (1631-32)[]
Andersen was friends with Jeff Higgins, Eddie Cantrell, and Larry Wild. Andersen and Cantrell were both residents of Barrackville.
The Wild and Higgins families had both been gone for the day when the Ring of Fire took place. The four boys had been together to play Dungeons & Dragons. After Grantville was shunted into the past, the four found themselves effectively orphaned.
The Battle of the Crapper[]
Andersen and the other three were initially employed by Mike Stearns as couriers.
The Battle of Moosburg[]
Jimmy Andersen served as the radio operator under colonel Jeff Higgins in the Hangman's regiment of the Third division of the USE army.
He was killed by a stray bullet at the beginning of the Battle of Moosburg in May 1636.[1]

- ↑ 1636: The Ottoman Onslaught p.283: "It was obvious what had happened. Jimmy had heard the gunfire, come out of the tent to investigate—not even a radio nut like Jimmy Andersen would have sent a message before doing that much—and a stray bullet—dear God, it had to been almost spent, at that distance—had ruptured his throat. The last two or three minutes of his life would have been a horror, as he bled out while choking to death. The only slight mercy was that he’d probably fainted from the blood loss fairly soon. From the looks of it, the bullet had nicked the carotid as well as severing his windpipe."
