Count Lars Kagg (1595–1661) was a Swedish soldier and politician. He was appointed Privy Councilor in 1641, Field Marshal in 1648 and Lord High Constable in 1660. In the Thirty Years' War (1618–1648), he commanded troops at the Battle of Oldendorf, in 1633.
Lars Kagg in 1632[]
Lars Kagg was the commander of the Swedish army's Yellow Regiment, one of its oldest ""first guard regiments". The agreement between Michael Stearns and Gustavus Adolphus allowed one Swedish regiment to be stationed near Grantville, and that regiment was Kagg's. Kagg spoke English fluently, though he had a heavy accent, and that was probably one reason he was given that station.
