Mechthilde von Leuchtenberg (24 October 1588-1 June 1634) was the wife of Albrecht VI of Bavaria. Aside from basic biographical details, little information about her life is readily available.
Mechthilde von Leuchtenberg in 1632[]
Mechthilde was furious when her husband Albrecht told her that Maximilian was persuaded by his privy council to forgo abdicating as Duke of Bavaria and remarry, as this meant all her work raising their sons to take over as Duke after Maximilian's death was now meaningless.
