Michel Ducos was a French Huguenot who was ostensibly an agent of Claude de Mesmes, comte d'Avaux. In reality, Ducos was a Huguenot fanatic who was fervently determined to weaken Cardinal Richelieu, and possibly cause his overthrow. Thanks to a series of circumstances, Ducos became an enemy of the time-displaced community of Grantville. Ducos created a network of assassins and spy's that were involved in some measure in the assassinations of Henry Dreeson, the Queen of Sweden, and attempted assassination of Kristina Vasa.
1634: The Galileo Affair[]
Ducos passed himself off as a member of the Paris Committee of Correspondence and infiltrated the Venetian Committee of Correspondence. While purporting to support the Venetian Committee's attempt to rescue Galileo, he actually used it as cover for an unsuccessful attempt to assassinate Pope Urban VIII. After escaping the failed assassination attempt on the Pope, Ducos fled to Scotland.

The Dreeson Incident[]
Ducos hoped that his assassination of Henry Dreeson would worsen relations with the USE and France, reigniting conflict between the two countries. Unfortunately, they were able to surmise his involvement and motivation and the plan failed
As of 1636, he is hiding somewhere in the New World while being pursued by Captain Harry Lefferts
