Major-General Nathaniel Towson (1784–1854) also known as Nathan Towson was an American soldier. He served as an artillery commander during the War of 1812. He was appointed Paymaster General of the United States Army in 1819.
Captain Nathan Towson commanded the First Brigade's artillery at the Battle of Chippewa, where he was able to substantially demolish much of the British artillery.
