Sir Samuel Gibbs (?-1815) was a British soldier and officer during the Napoleonic Wars and the War of 1812 against the United States. He served as Sir Edward Pakenham's second-in-command at the Battle of New Orleans in January, 1815. He was injured during the battle, and died the next day of his wounds.
Major General Samuel Gibbs served as Major General Edward Pakenham's second-in-command at the Battle of the Mississippi. Gibbs was responsible for the plan to remove heavy guns from British ships and move them to face Andrew Jackson's right flank.
