Samuel Rishworth in 1632[]
Samuel Rishworth joined David de Vries when de Vries visited Providence Island in May 1634. On de Vries' ship Walvis, he met up-timer Philip Jenkins, and was pleased to learn that the Americans opposed slavery. Having already helped several slaves escape into the island's woods, he was able to get them off the island and onto the Walvis.
He returned to Europe in later 1634, and made his way to Grantville, where he became part of the Anti-Slavery Society.
