The Schwarza River.

The Schwarza River is a left tributary of the Saale in Thuringia, Germany, and is 53 km (32.9 miles) long. Its source is in the Thuringian Forest, near Neuhaus am Rennweg. It flows into the Saale in Rudolstadt. Other towns on the Schwarza are Schwarzburg and Bad Blankenburg.

Schwarza River in 1632[]

The Ring of Fire cut the Schwarza River near Schwarzburg, thereby affecting its course. In its new course, the Schwarza fell over the ring wall, forming what was dubbed "Schwarza Falls", and flowed into a feeder stream for Buffalo Creek that was locally known as Spring Branch.
