Scotland is a country that occupies the northern third of the island of Great Britain. It is part of the United Kingdom, and shares a land border to the south with England. It is bounded by the North Sea to the east, the Atlantic Ocean to the north and west, and the North Channel and Irish Sea to the southwest. In addition to the mainland, Scotland consists of over 790 islands including the Northern Isles and the Hebrides.

Scotland in 1632[]

At the time of the Ring of Fire, Scotland was a kingdom ruled by Charles I , but it was not yet joined legally to England.

Given its strong Protestantism, many Scots mercenaries joined Gustavus Adolphus's cause and fought in Germany during the Thirty Years' War. Following Thomas Wentworth's rise to power, King Charles established a non-interference policy in Scotland, as Wentworth had convinced him that one of the sparks which had led to the English Civil War had been Scottish reaction to William Laud's attempt to impose the Anglican Book of Common Prayer. There was a condition that the Scots not meddle in England, but Wentworth assumed that, if they were left to their "Presbyterian obsessions", they would be too involved with their own quarrels to intervene in England.

Due to the events in England, it is highly unlike that the pro-USE Scotland would ever form Great Britain with England, at least while Charles I is still king
