Sir Gregory Norton, 1st Baronet (1603 – 26 March 1652) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1645 to 1652. He supported the Parliamentary cause in the English Civil War and was one of the signers of King Charles I's death warrant.
Sir Gregory Norton was arrested on the first day of Charles I's purge of people who had been involved in his execution in the OTL. Norton was originally confined in the Tower of London, but was later moved to Gatehouse Prison, where he was placed with John Milton. Norton had been kept unaware of outside developments, did not know why he had been arrested, and refused to believe Milton's statement that Nova Scotia had been given to France. The day after he had been taken to Gatehouse, he was taken out and beheaded, while Milton was forced to watch.
