Tahlonteskee (also Tahlonteeskee) (?-1819) was a prominent Cherokee chief. He led his tribe west to what became Arkansas Territory in 1809. He became Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation West in 1817, and was succeeded upon his death in 1819 by his brother John Jolly.
Tahlonteskee had already emigrated west by the time of the Battle of the Horseshoe Bend, a move that was premature in the estimation of The Ridge. Nonethless, Tahlonsteskee's actions prompted The Ridge to begin considering relocation, and using Sam Houston as a possible intermediary between the Cherokee and the United States governmet.
